Fairmont State Foundations
It’s that time again, and our talented 3D Foundations students at Fairmont State University have not disappointed. With only a few rolls of masking tape and two weeks of class time, these artists recreate custom footwear, keeping a direct 1-1 scale with their source shoes. Contour Wire Sculpture
The second project the 3D Foundations students at Fairmont State had to tackle was translating contour line drawings into a three dimensional form. The format is loosely based off of the wire sculpture of Michael Murphy, a contemporary artist based in Georgia. Thanks to Dylan Collins and Jason Lee at WVU for this project, great way for beginning students to investigate contour line principles.
The first project of the semester for my 3D Foundations students. It catches them off guard at first, but the pieces usually wind up looking pretty sweet.
